Job Title: Regional  Environmental Manager

Position Summary:

Provide Leadership, Technical and tactical Support, create, implement, and maintain programs and procedures to facilitate all phases of the Environmental program of Multiple US SVI locations. Establish facility operating procedures, data management tracking systems and reporting.  Develop/implement compliance achievement plans. Establish audit systems and provide oversight. Implement Air, Water, Waste, and Energy   management cost containment programs. Review new/modified products, processes and equipment. Evaluate legislative changes relating to environmental issues for impact on organizational policies and procedures. Develop and implement environmental compliance audits. Provide on-going communication related environmental performance, priorities, cost and major issues to all stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and directing Environmental, Waste (RCRA), and Energy programs across multiple locations.

  • Assist plant in the completion of Air Emissions Reports, Storm water Discharge Monitoring Reports, and SARA Reports.

  • Working with plants and outside consulting firms in the preparation of applications for environmental related permits.

  • Train employees on environmental best management practices, recordkeeping, and sample collection techniques.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of environmental policies across multiple locations.

  • Develop and implement formalized, company reporting mechanisms of environmental releases, and Energy issues.

  • Develop and implement programs and practices designed to reduce company-related chemical usage, emissions reduction and monitoring and reduction of energy usage.

  • Develop and conduct management and supervisory training in current environmental/Energy topics for all locations

  • Review and analyze incident data to apprise plant management of trends to support environmental program development, improvement and cost reduction.

  • Assist in the development of departmental budgets and participate in capital projects.

  • Manage others

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies as required for compliance

  • Communicate environmental information to individuals or groups; explains plans, violations, or exceptions to environmental standards; and provides technical assistance to meet standards.

  • Analyze environmental conditions and recommend changes to prevent or eliminate dangerous substances and materials.

  • Drive culture change through activities with employees from all levels within the organization.

  • Establish and participate in root-cause analysis of all incident reviews at any location when there is a serious release to the environment.  Represents the company during the investigation by outside parties.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or related field; should include course work in Environmental management, safety and environmental regulations.

  • 7 plus years’ experience in Environmental management, in compliance related environmental work. (RCRA, EPCRA, TSCA, CWA and SARA)

  • Ability to manage many projects with shifting priorities.

  • Strong management and training background.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State regulations and permitting guidelines.

  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies, i.e., EPA, California Air Board

  • Proven ability to motivate, direct and coordinate the Environmental activities of managers and their direct reports.

  • Ability to work independently with little direction from Director of EHS.

  • Knowledgeable of Information Technologies functionality, interfaces and reporting

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point

Business Scope:

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with federal, state, and local environmental agencies (EPA, DNR, and Water Pollution Commission) to ensure compliance with all established and new regulations significant role in reducing accidents at all locations.

  • Champion environmental improvement processes across all locations.

  • Travel is up to 40%

  • Analytical/comprehensive approach to problems
