Job Description:

•Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving corrosion control programs, systems, metrics and staff for North American pipeline and terminal operations.
•Maintain and provide internal and external corrosion control expertise and consulting for pipeline and terminal facilities.
•Develop, lead, implement and continuously improve the corrosion control program including program documentation, procedures, metrics, technical & field expertise and reporting metrics
•Manage and supervise corrosion control staff including field functions
•Guide the implementation and use of corrosion databases and other software tools
•Manage design and/or consult on construction, startup and monitoring of cathodic protection and inhibition systems
•Work with peers to maintain coating and painting program
•Produce, send and award bid packages to include specifications and drawings
•Proved technical support and guidance to other departments on corrosion control activities including providing project and operating budget development assistance
•Develop, implement and maintain manuals, procedures, specifications and other documents related to corrosion control; includes developing and implementing recurring program and document reviews and improvements
•Support regulatory audits and activities to maintain compliance
•Manage review, filing and maintenance of all records for corrosion control
•Work with other groups and departments on various activities to mitigate corrosion issues to reduce risk of incidents and maintain regulatory compliance
•Assist withOperatorQualification andothertraining


  • Bachelor's degree in engineeringrequired; mechanical, metallurgical, material science or chemical engineer preferred
  • NACE certified Senior Corrosion Technologist and Cathodic Protection Specialist; Level 3 or above preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience working in corrosion control for  pipeline and terminals
  • Minimum of 5years supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience in mitigation of corrosion of subsurface pipelines,  above ground storage tanks and other equipment
  • Experience with marine structure corrosion mitigation
  • Knowledge of petroleum products and industry terminology
  • Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to independently proof work for accuracy
  • Ability to use awareness of relationships and impacts of data trends and elements to appropriately recommend actions that impact both near and long-term company operations and profits
  • Working knowledge of DOT/PHMSA regulation as well as NACE, ASME and API recommended practices and technical documents
  • 30% of travelrequired
