The RN Patient Placement Coordinator will report to the Supervisor and manager Patient Flow.
This position is responsible for ensuring that transfer language and hospital policies are followed, Working closely with Patient Access Center, Unit and Departmental leadership in achieving organizational goal of avoiding patient diversions, and leveraging Admission Officer of the Day role appropriately in circumstances where needed. Job duties include:
Processing requests for beds
Assuring appropriate handoffs (MD and RN)
Ensuring timeliness of placement of external admissions (elective and emergent) in accordance with clinical standards and guidelines.
This position is authorized 80 hours per two weeks during the day and evening shifts on a varrying schedule and is eligible for benefits.
Successful candidates will be required to have their BSN, MN RN Licensure, and a minimum of 5 years clinical experience as an RN and previous operations management experience. Preferred candidates will have a Masters in Nursing or related field and 3 to 5 years operations management experience.
Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills, strong sense of service orientation, ability to garner respect from multiple disciplines, promote team work, exhibit a positive attitude, and demonstrate ability for follow-through. Someone with the ability to be respectful of different viewpoints, to collaborate and prioritize, to make rapid appropriate decisions, to articulate the context of the decision making process, and to be proactive about planning will receive top consideration.
