Overview

Leads the development of multiple product strategies in the valve and electrical automation spaces. The successful candidate will impact product portfolios and sectors across the Americas business units. Manages, and directs product marketing activities for the Industrial Automation Vertical within IMI Precision Engineering Americas region. Monitor, identify and direct market, product, and pricing opportunities and associated requirements related to those opportunities for the Americas. Visit customers and distributors and determine market requirements while monitoring the competition to identify current and anticipated market activities that may impact new and existing products and markets. Work closely with all areas of the business to ensure the company’s priorities are actively being pursued.

Location: Littleton, CO

Responsibilities

  • Develop product and sector strategies that impacts product or sectors across the Americas business units.

  • Lead multiple product groups in implementing strategy across IMI Precision Engineering technologies.

  • Coordinate product and technology strategies with other Precision Engineering global locations.

  • Identify market potential and new product specifications, establish pricing and market strategies, estimate potential sales and inventory requirements, resolves market and distribution channel issues and quality questions, and manage product from launch to phase-out.

  • Coordinates with domestic and global marketing, sales, manufacturing, and engineering on product introduction, launch schedule, and market exploitation to ensure maximum penetration of market segment and accomplishment of financial goals and optimum allocation of resources.

  • Provides both product and application training to both internal and external customers and individuals.

  • Oversee the development of marketing collateral and defines promotional activities, publicizing the product through the press, sales force, and alternate distribution channels.

  • Maintain and improves the product portfolio, service strategy, market share, and product profitability.

  • Monitor and reports competitor activities including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, products, service strategies, and pricing.

  • Build relationships with major accounts, Precision Engineering sector heads, business development managers, regional sales teams, key account managers, regional technical centers, regional and worldwide manufacturing sites for their respective products, private label suppliers, and product marketing counterparts both in the US and in other regions of the world.

  • Ensure effective implementation of product and market plans by continued monitoring of progress to the original plan.

  • Initiate, maintain and deliver product rationalization strategy and obsolescence schedules.

  • Responsible for large or complex projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8years of previous Product Marketing experience related to valve or electrical automation.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to translate intuition, market feelings and conceptual technologies into successful, winning new products.

  • Ability to develop sector strategy across the Americas business units.

  • Must be a seasoned professional with vision, personal authority, and deep understanding of the relevant products, market, key players, and applications.

  • Track record of building relationships, managing projects and coordinating resources and people to successfully implement strategy

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills are needed.

Computers and Technology

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
