: Reporting to the Vice-President & Principal at the University of Toronto Mississauga, the Registrar & Director of Enrolment Management plays a key leadership role in the provision of state of the art high-quality, and timely recruitment, admission, registration and enrolment services and the development and implementation of a strategic enrolment management plan, consistent with the campus’ growing population and academic plans. As Registrar for UTM, the incumbent will manage a range of coordinated enrolment services, including recruitment and admissions, transfer credit assessment and all transfer agreements, academic and financial aid advising, front line and online services including all mobile applications, new student advising and transition programming, registration and records, entrance and in-course scholarships and awards, financial aid and OSAP administration, course and exam scheduling, classroom scheduling and the administration of ORBS – the online room booking service, final exam administration and deferred and outside centre exam services, the  academic calendar and registration materials, program/degree audits, graduation assessment and convocation, petitions and appeals, along with registrarial support for academic and administrative units. The Registrar is responsible for the delivery of timely enrolment, registration and campus information and services to faculty, staff and students facilitated through an in-house institutional analysis team, communications staff  and an IT team, all using state of the art hardware, software and new media solutions. As Director of Enrolment Management for UTM, the incumbent directs a large team of professional staff to collect, model and analyze enrolment data to inform the campus' enrolment expansion plans seeking to optimize the relationship between enrolment and resources.  The Director manages staff who monitor, control and forecast enrolments and anticipate change, and is responsible for reporting this information to the senior management group, particularly as it affects educational policy, curriculum development, academic planning, campus space utilization and new developments, academic reputation and performance, and strategic planning. The Director works closely with University planners and the Vice-President & Principal to set both international and domestic enrolment targets, and to develop entrance scholarship programs and recruitment and admission plans to attract the best and the brightest to UTM and to ensure enrolment targets are met.  The Director chairs the Campus Strategic Enrolment Management Group on campus and is responsible for accurately reporting enrolment targets, trends and actuals to support campus planning, space utilization, new campus space development and curriculum development.  The Director works with UTM's and U of T's senior officers (including other U of T faculty/divisional registrars, the University Registrar and Director of Admissions) to meet the assumptions built into the academic and financial planning models adopted by the University and the campus.  The Registrar is responsible for new business and partnership development related to strategic enrolment objectives, including partnerships with colleges and universities related to transfer and articulation agreements, agreements with high schools to facilitate admission of excellent students from Canada and elsewhere, and agreements to purchase software tools and services to enhance our enrolment services efforts. The Registrar & Director of Enrolment Management is a member of the campus' senior management team, working under the general direction of the Vice-President & Principal, in close consultation with the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, the Dean of Student Affairs, the Chief Administrative Officer, the Chairs of academic departments, and University planning officers, and takes a very active role in campus and University governance. 


EDUCATION: Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.   EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 10 years of  progressive experience in enrolment management, with at least five years of primary responsibility for the operation of a large, complex department. Proven experience with the development of registrarial business processes and systems thus enhancing registrarial and enrolment efficiencies and effectiveness.  Experience working with student information (big data) and the analysis and presentation of this to senior officials and large groups.    SKILLS: Superior oral presentation and written communication skills; strong strategic planning skills; sound financial management and budgeting/forecasting skills; excellent staff management, team leadership, and conflict resolution skills; the ability to align operations to support the goals of faculty, staff and students. Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, diplomacy and persuasion. Must be able to develop and foster partnerships, deal effectively and professionally with people at all levels and work collaboratively.    OTHER:Excellent administrative, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as well-developed analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills, the ability to work independently, and an excellent sense of time management. Sensitivity to issues of equity and a desire to work with the various constituencies in a diverse population. Ability to work well under pressure and to meet strict deadlines; work effectively with a wide range of faculty, staff and students; deal with a high volume of demands, and deliver effective results.
