Job Description:


Manage engineering requirements as it pertains to the Equipment Rebuild and Fabrication Center in Evansville, IN. Provides Engineering assistance on special projects as they arise within the Equipment Division.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities                                    

  • Manage Engineering requirements as it pertains to the Evansville Rebuild and Fabrication Center, i.e. Shop
  • Work with outside engineering firms to ensure designs are stamped by a Professional Engineer
  • Ensures work is performed per designs and specifications
  • Ensures all related documents are stored for future reference
  • Manage and/or assist with special projects. Tasks may include being a team leader for major rebuild and/or rental projects, revision of Equipment Manuals, computer softwareto improve efficiencies (work order systems, time card systems, etc.), safety initiatives, assist with bidding tools, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations (OSHA, MSHA, ANSI, CDAC, etc.) as continuous improvement ideas are implemented
  • Management of Lean and Continuous Improvement projects within the Equipment Division
  • Work closely with Area and Job Equipment Superintendents and Job ProjectManagement to ensure clear communications exist when providing repair or fabrication quotes
  • Assist with training of field personnel as it pertains to policies and procedures
  • Assist with the Management of repair and maintenance records for the Equipment Division
  • Assist with warranty & third party repairs when necessary
  • Conduct visual equipment inspections, inbound and outbound as needed for specialty equipment
  • Assist in safety tool box meetings and daily safety reminders
  • Assist in developing work plans with Activity Hazard Analysis reports for the Evansville Shop and Yard
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, projectassignments for a period of time, etc.

Skills and Abilities

  • Use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Effectively communicate information and ideas in speech and writing
  • Identify the proper tools and equipment needed
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and written sentences
  • General Mechanical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability and behavior necessary to lead others in accomplishing individual and team goals
  • Ability to work well in a non-structured environment, i.e. hands on self-starter
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & AutoCAD. Knowledge with OnBase, eCMS by Computer Guidance Control, and database management is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of structural design and welding of materials

 Training required (can be provided)

  • NCCO – written test only
  • AEMP – CEM course
  • OSHA – 30 hour course
  • First Aid Training – CPR course

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management or related field of study, or 5 years relevant experience
