The Cummins Power Systems Business is a global provider of power generation systems, components, and services in standby power, distributed power generation, as well as auxiliary power in mobile applications to meet the needs of a diversified customer base. Cummins Power Systems also provides a full range of services and solutions, including long-term operation and maintenance contracts and turnkey and temporary power solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager for our Oil & Gas business. This role will be based in Columbus, IN.

Using broad marketing functional skills, this role will implement the marketing strategy for an identified product line or geography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with O&G leaders globally to develop marketing communication overall plan; oversees marketing communication planning and execution.

  • Leads key project management support and communicates plans, deadlines, and achievements to marketing leaders; works across regions with marketing teams to execute projects.

  • Understands the global brand strategy and aligns work products to that strategy.

  • Manages ongoing market research to understand market trends and potential and product applications in identified markets; uses market research to inform business decisions and priorities.

  • Leverages the competencies in the global marketing team, and represents identified product line or geography in global marketing initiatives.

  • Leads O&G planning for SBP process. Leads data gathering team, and provides interpretation and oversight of the process. Presents information to O&G Market Director, and other PSBU leaders.

  • Leads data collection and interpretation for O&G business processes: AOP and OPP.

  • Coordinates development of marketing plans using market research, pricing analyses, and interpreting data for discussion with marketing leaders.

  • Manages multi-cultural teams to successfully achieve and exceed business goals.

  • Implements the global marketing strategy in identified product line or geography.

  • Implements medium-term and annual marketing plans; identifies barriers to success and develops solutions for smooth execution of the plan.

  • Manages ongoing market research to understand market trends and potential and product applications in identified markets; uses market research to inform business decisions and priorities.

  • Leads marketing efforts for value package marketing activities to create a comparative advantage and meet profitability goals.

  • Leverages the competencies in the global marketing team, and represents identified product line or geography in global marketing initiatives.

  • Translates the global brand strategy for the identified product line or geography.

  • Provides management, direction and development to a multi-cultural marketing team which may be based in several locations.

  • Manages marketing and sales systems and processes including the customer satisfaction measurement process.

  • Leverages relevant channel staff, knowledge, or processes; integrates Voice of the Customer into marketing plans.

  • Coaches and motivates marketing staff; provides guidance and direction on problems and issues; delegates works assignments considering employee skills and development needs.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience a similar role, in a global, matrix organization.

  • People management experience.

  • Industrial manufacturing experience and understanding of the Oil & Gas market highly desirable.

It will often involve ability to influence because people on your team will very rarely report directly to you as a leader. Group dynamic techniques to have an individual or group work through a challenging issue, probe for issues/concerns and drive to consensus.

Education

College, university, or equivalent degree in in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration. Masters or MBA preferred.

Base annual salary commensurate with experience plus annual variable compensation.
