    • The Shell Pennsylvania Chemical Plant will be a world-scale petrochemical facility in Western Pennsylvania that upgrades locally-produced ethane from Marcellus and Utica shale formations gas production to make polyethylene (PE). The facility will consist of an Ethane Cracking Unit (ECU), 2 Gas Phase Polyethylene Units, a Slurry phase Polyethylene Unit, plus associated Power Generation, Utilities, and Logistics facilities. As construction of the site progresses, the asset is now growing to support Commissioning and Start-Up activities and prepare for full operation in the early 2020s.
      The PE Finishing Production Specialist role serves as the front-line operational/technical support to the Production Unit (PU) Additive handling, Extrusion, Pelletizing, and Pellet Conveying and Blending operations, They provide deep operational understanding and process technology expertise to support troubleshooting, general day to day tracking of unit performance, and identifying and developing opportunities to improve unit performance.
      Since the facility is still under construction, the role also includes a large developmental element. The Production Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting control system testing, training and qualification of operators, developing procedures, commissioning, and starting up the unit.
      Although the Production Specialist does not have a formal leadership role, they will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the unit operating shift teams, process technologists, and maintenance support groups.
    • Works to and advocates the site and unit HSE management systems and participates in HSSE processes and programs
    • Acts as primary contact in the operations team for process related issues
    • Shows ownership for the unit performance and the performance of the site
    • Solicits the help of Operating Technicians, Process Technologists, Maintenance Specialists, and other technical discipline resources to analyze unit-operating problems and provide corrective action support
    • Supports introduction of new grades and/or other process developments
    • Ensures Management of Change is effectively applied to operational or process modifications
    • Owns production unit related training materials and procedures
    • Share knowledge by training, coaching and mentoring colleagues as appropriate
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. Minimum five (5) years experience with  Additive handling, Extrusion, Pelletizing, and Solids Handling operations,.
  • Hands-on unit operating experience
  • Supporting unit commissioning and start-up
  • Unit performance monitoring and troubleshooting, and improvement
  • Working closely and liaising with Operations, Process Technology, and Maintenance teams
  • Training and coaching less experienced colleagues
