Responsible for the 24 hour management of a specific patient care unit/s, service/s, or program/s in settings as designated by the Chief Nursing Officer and/or Director, Patient Care Services.
The Nurse Manager directs and supervises the functions and activities of the assigned unit/service/program: Develops, implements and interprets policies; schedules and supervises assigned employees and insures the quality of care provided to patients and families.
Responsible for unit based budgetary management and human resource management. Assignment to Nurse Manager II positions is made by the Chief Nursing Officer in collaboration with Human Resources based on the number of Headcount assigned.
The Nurse Manager II has an assigned Headcount of > 51 employees.
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports..
Bachelor's Degree - BSN
3 years - RNexperience, including 2 years in appropriate area of nursing
RN - REGISTERED NURSE - NLRN
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Certified in nursing specialty - Preferred
Previous Nursing Management/Supervisory experience - Preferred.
