Job Description:

Position assists all business units in developingcontract strategies with U.S. Government,other domestic and foreign customers. The incumbent serves as a technical resource for negotiation, administration, and execution ofcontracts, providing advice and counsel as needed. Directly supervises the Government Contract Administration & Pricing Specialist’s duties as insidesales representative for directsales to U.S. Government customers and the Government Cost/Price Analyst’s duties as pricer/negotiator for direct & indirect U.S. Governmentsales.

  • Supports account managers’ review, negotiation, and administration of contracts
  • Acts as bridge between LORD Legal and the business units to identify contractrisks and ways to avoid those risks
  • Provides detailed analysis and pushback language for Government contract terms
  • Reviews “commercial item” justifications and supports ensuing discussions/negotiations with Government and Government-Prime customers
  • Provides advice, counsel and strategic direction for salescontracts
  • Trains LORD personnel in contract review, negotiation and administration
  • Completes contracts-related Government Certifications and Representations
  • Supervises the Government Contracts Group to ensure accurate and timely:
    • Submission of responses to solicitations, including Certified Cost/Price Packages when required
    • Coordination and resolution of contracts-related problems
    • Support of customer audits of lord pricing proposals
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • Special projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Contract Administration or related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years progressive Government contracting experience
  • Expert knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively anticipate and identify problems and provide technical guidance in conflict resolution
  • High level presentation and negotiation abilities and experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation expertise
  • Exhibits attitude of cooperation with internal and external customers


  • Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Contract Administration or related field
  • Commercial contracting experience
  • International contracting experience
  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Professional Contracting or Purchasing Certification(s), e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.)
