We are searching for a new Manager of Emergency Services, responsible for the management of nursing practice and operations for Trident’s 26-bed (plus an additional 16 Fast Track beds) Emergency Department. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of: clinical nursing practice, staff recruitment, retention, labor relations, supply chain and budget, staffing, employee performance evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, medical records, internal and external regulatory and survey requirements.
· Current license as a registered Nurse to practice in the State of South Carolina.
· BLS – Healthcare provider on hire (American Heart)
· ACLS Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
· PALS Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
· NRP (MCMC,CPMC) Certification on hire or within 6 months of hire or transfer
· NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire.
· CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) strongly preferred
B. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or Business is preferred. Five years of Emergency experience with at least one year of leadership experience in the ER setting is required.
C. Special qualifications: Effective communication skills; both orally and written, with flexible interpersonal skills to facilitate the exchange of information within all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively read, write and speak fluent English. Computer skills needed. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem solving skills. Creative and innovative skills in personnel management and ability to facilitate growth and development of department and staff.
