The James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital at Vidant Medical Center offers 197 beds and bassinets and an array of specialized services unequaled in eastern North Carolina. Our patient-and-family-centered care philosophy is more than a mantra; it's the guiding force of our efforts and has been for nearly 30 years. The nurse manager practices in the framework of the mission, vision and values of Vidant Medical Center and maintains 24-hour accountability for unit operations. The manager is a clinical leader with focus on producing excellent patient outcomes, patient and family engagement, workforce management/ development and clinical efficiency. The nurse manager is the front line leader who partners with physicians and manages staff and resources to promote safe, timely, efficient, effective and patient focused unit operations.
- BSN is required.
- RN license in NC is required.
- Three to five years of nursing clinical experience required with a one year requirement, two year preference in a leadership/supervisory (including Charge Nurse), or management role.
- One year of additional graduate education may be substituted for one year of the required experience with a maximum substitution of two years.

L&D is divided into 3 areas providing care across the continuum of perinatal care for low risk to high risk maternal fetal medicine patients.
Triage- 6 bed Triage
Side A- 7 bed LDRP for low risk patients
Side B- 16 bed LDR for low and high risk patients, 4 ORs and a 2-bed PACU
