In this role as a Product Marketing Manager – Personal Care you will be responsible for promoting profitable sales growth within North America through the development of strategic sourcing, deep industry and application knowledge, development of new suppliers and product line, and commercial plans. The Product Marketing Manager – Personal Care will be an expert in the personal care ingredients industry with deep understanding of market trends across various sub-segments that drive growth in the industry. This role will also help manage Nexeo’s liability from commercial perspective. In this position you will leverage working relationships with Suppliers, Sales, Marketing, Legal Department and Supply Chain with exposure to the Nexeo senior leadership team.
Major responsibilities include:
Responsible for developing and executing product line strategies with focus on the personal care industry and new technologies to drive project driven growth
Developing and maintaining strategic alignment with key suppliers that maximize overall profitability for business
Developing and maintaining alignment with sales teams in order to enhance profitability. Understand sales trends and communicate new sales opportunities among sales teams.
Responsible for developing metrics and conducting ongoing monitoring and measurement of supplier performance against metrics
Perform regular analysis and maintenance of pricing to ensure margin optimization
Responsible for managing cost negotiations with suppliers. Will manage any cost increases or decreases
Responsible for driving change to optimize supplier relationships. Includes, but is not limited to, developing and distributing communications, developing and conducting training, developing processes and procedures and checking for ongoing compliance with changes, and being a market and application resource for the sales teams including joint customer calls
Helps manage supply chain and logistics plan for movement of product
Other projects and assignments as necessary
Travel requirement for the role is approximately 40-50% of time
Four year Technical or Business degree
10 years of Chemical Industry experience in product line management, sourcing, sales, marketing and/or technical service
Minimum 5-7 years of Personal Care industry experience
P&L management experience (either product line or sales/geography)
Business/Strategic mind set and experience with commercial transaction negotiations, business contracts, including price, service levels and other terms
40% to 50% overnight travel required
The role requires proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
Must be authorized to work in the United States
