Job Introduction

For certain customer and/or product specializations there is aDirector ofSales assigned due to the amount of business or strategic importance of that business. TheDirector ofSaleshas management responsibility for the Account Managers assigned to his/her team.

Major Responsibilities

REPORTS TO: Global Business Director - Toyota & Nissan

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Assigning programs to the Account Managers and ensuring they perform successfully in support of the Target Pursuit Process and Account Management.

•Dividing account manager tasks and delegating them effectively to ensure the Account Managers successfully achieve their objectives and manage their responsibilities.

•Conducting performance reviews as scheduled and as required to assess performance since last review, address issues, make improvements and in support of professional development and succession plans.

•Performing the duties of an Account Manager on specific programs. This can include all three categories as described in the Account Manager Job Description – Target Pursuit and Account Management of Business in Development and Business in Production.

With regards to the Target Pursuit Process, the Director of Sales is responsible to:

•Ensure appropriate targets are identified for their particular account and/or product line, and ensure a competitive strategy is established.

•Support the strategy and execution of specific target pursuits as required.

•Support and contribute to the Target Pursuit process in coordination with the divisions, group management, the Executive Director, Sales VP's, Product Line Managers, marketing, etc. Ensure that the target pursuit strategy is as competitive as possible, resourced appropriately and that it is executed effectively.

With regards to Commercial Management, the Director of Sales is responsible to:

•Manage customer price reduction initiatives with the objective to minimize margin erosion and maximize customer credit.

Perform effective recognizance of customer activities and initiatives in support of identifying:

•Potential Target Pursuit Opportunities

•Customer Initiatives that affect Magna's business or present opportunities for Magna

•Competitor Intelligence

•The Director of Sales is responsible to communicate this information to their team, supervisors, business development and other appropriate individuals or teams within the company.

•Represent the company professionally with credibility and enthusiasm.

•Develop relationships with the customer that supports our ability to be successful.

•Other job duties as required and/or assigned.

Knowledge and Education

Bachelor’sDegree in Business Administration, Finance,Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination ofeducation andexperience.

Work Experience

10+Years ofsalesexperience and strong Finance background. Strong Excel, PowerPoint, & Toyota & Nissan customerexperiencerequired.

Work Environment

Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. May require local and international travel.
