Duties in this position include precepting family medicine residents in outpatient and inpatient settings, advising and teaching medical students; mentoring residents and fellows; developing and updating curricula and evaluation of curricular elements. Evaluating residents and medical students. Patient care at the clinic and hospital in full-scope family medicine, including obstetrics. Taking call. Participating in faculty development activities. Participating in faculty meetings and serving on committees as needed. Opportunities for educational research and educational program development.
Required: MD or DO degree; completion of a family medicine residency; board certified in specialty; licensed or eligible in Minnesota.
Preferred: Two or more years of full-scope family medicine practice experience and previous medical teaching experience.
Department will consider hiring applicant at either Assistant Professor or AssociateProfessor ranks if the applicant meets rank qualifications per the department's track statements and the applicant is approved for the rank by the Medical School.
About the Department
We are seeking family medicine physicians for a position in our affiliated St. John's Family Medicine Residency Program located at the University of Minnesota Physicians - Phalen Village Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota. This appointment is an annually renewable, term faculty at either Assistant Professor or AssociateProfessor in the Teaching or Clinical Scholar track. Positions will be 75-100% time.
