Senior SharePoint Engineer
CSC is looking for a Senior SharePoint Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering Team. You will be responsible for the design, administration, and solid understanding of all SharePoint roles and features as well as various additional enterprise technologies. Expertise in Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services, DNS, DHCP desired. The technologies this team supports are considered critical to business and this allows this team to add a significant amount of value to company by ensuring that these services are secure and stable while maintaining the highest level of performance and scalability.
The Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for all aspects of these technologies from Enterprise wide projects to operational issues and outages. We perform the function of an escalation point to our operational support team in the event they are unable to resolve an issue or outage. Additionally as a SharePoint Engineer you will be asked upon at times to mentor and provide training to junior and mid-level engineers on the team.
Some of the things you will be doing:
Design logical architectures, define integration architecture for SharePoint to integrate with various disparate systems (SAP / Finance systems etc.,)
Define the information architecture / taxonomy and clearly define taxonomy term store for the whole Enterprise
Participate in architectural peer review activities with other groups (DBA / AD / Legal Team etc.,)
Define the service applications architecture and make sure there are no single points of failure
Work with CxO and Program Managers to define the architecture and design the solutions to address business needs and opportunities
Responsible for mentoring SharePoint admins and development team members. Maintain good relationships with key vendors and closely work with them to understand their offerings and roadmaps.
Implement best practices and governance procedures for SharePoint custom solutions
Conduct proofs of concept for mission critical applications. Lead the development of SharePoint components (web parts, application pages, page layouts, etc.) for enterprise scale Portal, ECM, and collaboration solutions
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
Ability to translate broader business initiatives into clear team objectives and concrete individual goals, aligning appropriately with other groups for efficient, coordinated action.
5 + years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of SharePoint development and architectureexperience
5+ years of development experience within the .NET framework
Proficient in C#, VB .Net , with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
Familiarity with Crystal Reports or BI reporting tools
Knack for writing clean, readable code
Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Logical data modeling
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, Visual Studio source controls
Familiarity with automated continuous integration and testing
Office 365 on line platform experience
Implementation of SharePoint-based workflows
Design and development of Business Intelligence dashboards
Experience with SharePoint Designer, MS Office SharePoint Server, MS Office Development.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (to include SSIS,SSRS and SSAS)
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, energetic and professional demeanor, and customer service oriented
Strong technical writing skills and professional proposal development skills are also required.
