The Resource Manager is responsible for increasing efficiency across the agency (Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver) through effective management of staff resourcing. This person will fill an essential role in daily company operations through oversight of staff aggregate bandwidth, utilization and ongoing matching of individual project needs with staff skill sets. He/She will provide support in estimating the staffing needs and availability of resources across all client accounts along with capacity planning. Which means you'll be the glue in ensuring that our teams are staffed and utilized to the best advantage for the client, team, and business.


  • Manage resourcing forecast based on input from Client Project, Account and Department Managers
  • Monitor day to day activity and identify instances of underutilization and work with departments leads to solve the issue
  • Track and manage talent database to understand employee skillsets across the organization
  • Manage freelance and contractworker relationships, including financial tracking and invoice payments. Try to limit the use of temporary resources through the optimization of permanent resource allocation
  • Recommend process improvements for Resource Management
  • Own the data used to make informed decisions around capacity and projections.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with department teams to ensure all needs are met and all parties are represented during prioritization exercises
  • Identify gaps in what people are working on and what we are getting paid for across allocated departments
  • Track utilization for each department – pulling together top-level reports regularly
  • Work with account and project management teams and group/office leads to understand the client engagements, SOW’s, and funding that drive resource needs
  • Liaise with various department heads to understand and manage team resource needs
  • Monitor group and office bandwidth to maximize utilization across team resources
  • Escalate issues related to group rotations, retention or employee relations, workflow and projected staffing needs


  • 3-5 years of resource management experience in an agency/broadcast environment with rapidly changing project needs
  • Experience managing and evaluating resources in a project management environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with both employees and managers
  • Strong reporting experience using Excel
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and tools for resource management
