This engineering position will be responsible for designing fuel and flammable liquids facilities, including the associated electrical, safety, and control. The successful candidate will work primarily with the Fuel System Engineering Team in the Scarborough, ME or Auburn, NH office, although work with other groups, including environmental, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering may be required from time to time. Duties will include both office and field work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Office work will include extensive written communication, client and external communication, engineering design and calculations, analysis, CADD drafting, code/regulatory review and reporting, drawing printing and assembly, report writing, printing and assembly, review, and quality assurance. Field work will include construction observation, site inspection, and compliance inspection. Local, regional, and national travel/day trips may be required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
BS or MS in ElectricalEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, ElectricalEngineeringTechnology, or Mechanical EngineeringTechnologyrequired. 1-4 years’ work experiencepreferred as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer in a related field, however new graduates will also be considered. While experience with fuel systems is a plus, building or process system design will be considered as relevant experience.
Experience and competence with AutoCAD, MS Word, and MS Excel required. Revit experience a plus.
Strong writing skills essential.
EIT preferred, however, the ability to sit for the EIT/PE exam and obtain licensure as a Professional Engineer in the electrical or mechanical discipline within 5 years is required.
Specification writing/review experience and construction observation experience are desirable.
Experience with storage tanks (ASTs and USTs), Compressed Natural Gas (facilities), alternative fuels, electrical hazard locations, and/or flammable liquids preferred.
Demonstrated success in a team environment essential.
Detail orientation, strong writing skills, and ability to communicate and work with a team are all important qualities. The successful candidate will be a team-oriented self-starter who can identify daily needs and assist as necessary to complete client assignments.
