HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Finance team.  As a Plant Controller, you will actively participate as a part of the plant leadership team to maximize the results of the plant and business. Lead and provide oversight for all manufacturing accounting functions and activities at the Plant level to achieve GAAP and SOX requirements. Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of financial data, development of credible short-term forecasts/annual operating plan and management of cash flow. Also accountable for safe-guarding all plant assets and ensure integrity of all inventories, monitor and control fixed assets, etc. Provide counsel and direction to the Plant Manager and staff to ensure compliance with Company policies, governmental laws, GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Position must sign off on accuracy check signature authority for expenditures and is generally given operational and or full signature authority for the plant when the plant manager is out of the office. Additional responsibilities include managing the inventory integrity program, annual physical inventories, payroll, presenting monthly results to senior management, financial review of capital spends and “make vs. buy” decisions.
The Plant Controller Will Provide the Following Key Accountabilities:

  • Achieve requireddeadlines in a consistent manner without discrepancies  
  • Present and explain financial forecasts to upper management, meet or exceed published forecasts and/or Annual Operating Plan
  • Prepare reports that coordinate and consolidate daily/weekly/monthly effectively statistics as well as monthly departmental costs
  • Develop plans to manage cash flow
  • Continuously evaluate adequacy of all balance sheet reserve accounts and make necessary adjustments
  • Develop, report and analyze product costs
  • Analyzation of capital appropriations to determine financial justification/feasibility
  • Uphold Division/Corporate policies, Federal, State and local laws (including tax) and adhere to GAAP
  • Develop new internal controls, as necessary
  • Provide leadership and develop plant financial team; coach and mentor the team to prepare for leadership roles and roles of increased responsibilities

The Successful Plant Controller Will Meet the Following Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Business Administration with major in accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 5-7 years experience
  • Leadership, communication and motivational skills
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Product knowledge
  • Knowledge of GAAP and governmental laws
