Infrastructure Engineer - IT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of the voice and data infrastructure of a growing enterprise including server, desktop and data center areas. Will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business including back up and support plus general maintenance of all IT related hardware and software. Individual must be a self-starter who can perform with minimal supervision, lead projects and solve complex issues from start to finish.
•Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, switches, wifi controllers, firewalls, servers and PC’s.
•Diagnose and solve issues, often under time constraints.
•Provide network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration.
•Provide network documentation.
•Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions.
•Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest or implement solutions.
•Manage projects and tasks in Track-It! (Ticketing system)
•Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction.
•Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices
•Remain current on emerging technologies via professional groups, trade magazines, internal and external training, independent research and study, and other avenues available.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Manager of Manufacturing Infrastructure and Controls or Director of Infrastructure.
•5+ years’ experience implementing, administering andtroubleshootingnetworkinfrastructure including Servers, PCs, Macs, LANSwitches, VOIP, and Mobile Devices etc...
•Knowledge of current protocols and standards, including FTP, TCP/IP stack, HTTP, MPLS, etc.
•Experience supporting an enterprise SAP environment.
•Application support experience with Exchange, VMWare, Active Directory, SQL, Solar Winds, EMC Storage, etc.
•Comfortable documenting and explaining network topologies
-Understand and diagram existing network
-Diagram, explain and plan for future upgrades
-Keep all documentation current and relevant
•General understanding of VOIP equipment and operation
•Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting and supporting:
-Wireless (WiFi) equipment
-Computers, servers and peripherals
•Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, encryption, authentication and authorization technology.
•Experience with the following:
-Windows server: Design, implement, troubleshooting, administration
-Windows Clustering technologies
-MS SQL Server: Design, implement, troubleshooting, administration
-Active directory design, implementation, troubleshootingincluding DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, authentication, trusts,
mixedclient integration (Windows, Linux, Apple)
-Instant messenger infrastructure
-Anti-Virus: planning, deploying, administration
-MS Exchange: design, implementation, troubleshooting
-E-mail archiving: planning, deploying, administration
-Anti-Spam: design, implementation, troubleshooting, administration
-SAN: design, implement, troubleshooting, administration
-vmWare: design, implement, troubleshoot
-Patching: design, implement, troubleshoot enterprise level automated patching
• Patches to Windows servers and client operating systems, ensuring minimal issues by proper testing.
-Experience with routing, switching, vlans, firewall technologies
-Experience with VOIP systems
-Backup systems: processes for proper backup of servers and applications, and restoring methodologies.
-Experiencebuilding data centers / power, UPS, racks, AC, security access processes
-Planning and support for systems in a manufacturing environment
-Strong PC support skills.
-Mobile device management/ BYOD (Including Apple IOS, Android, Windows Mobile)
•Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and on line resources.

Formal Education & Certification
•B.A. or B.S. in a technical field or relevant combination of education and work experience.<span
