We are a leading property manager with a portfolio of more than 30,000 units of high-quality housing. We are now seeking a Recertification Specialist to join our team.
Within a fast-moving environment, you will have the chance to increase your knowledge of housing guidelines and facilitate the smooth running of our community in Chicago.
As a Recertification Specialist, you will be responsible for performing our resident’s annual and interim recertifications in-line with CHA and HUD guidelines.
Taking a professional, polite approach, you’ll advise residents on rent payments and potential rent changes. You’ll explain ACOP and lease terms, conditions and policies in a clear, concise manner and answer any questions residents may have.
Supporting all aspects of the moving-in and out process, you’ll generate resident and unit status updates, as well as assisting with rent collection and posting.
Additionally, you’ll process resident requests and distribute a variety of correspondence, including flyers, letters and memos.
Whilst no experience is necessary, to be considered, you must have:
- The ability to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner
- The ability to prioritize, coordinate and follow-up on a number of projects simultaneously
Due to the requirements of this role, the successful candidate will be required to pass a background check, pre-employment drug testing and gain approval from the Chicago Housing Authority.
As a Recertification Specialist, you must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You must also be resourceful and decisive with the ability to work on your own initiative.
