Directs the operations and strategic planning of patients/customer services, human resources and financial management for the Department of Medicine. Assists with program development pursuing opportunities consistent with the business plan and operational support needs. Supervises assigned administrative and medical personnel in Department of Medicine. Prepares and assists with all regulatory reviews, ensuring compliance and adherence to hospital and departmental policies, objectives
and operational procedures by department heads. Collaborates with Administrative, Nursing, Medical and
Education: Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health or related
field. Masters preferred.
Experience: Typically, seven years directly related experience with a minimum of five years as a
manager or supervisor at the departmental level.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
General: Communication skills to interact effectively with Denver Health’s current service/client base,
prospective customers, and all levels of Denver Health management. The ability to perform financial
analyses including forecasting, assisting in exploring strategic options and developing creative
solutions to complex business issues. The ability to interpret and analyze financial and statistical
information. The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze
information, identify implications of data, draw appropriate conclusions, generate viable alternative
solutions to a question or problem and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative.
Specific: Knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance requirements. The ability to direct
profit and loss, revenue generation, and expenditure control to optimize the utilization of resources at
