Consumer Products Company is looking for:

 

POSITION: Dir, Brand Strategies

LOCATION: Suffolk Virginia Area

SALARY: $145-165K 

DEGREE:  Required

EXPERIENCE: 10+ years Marketing and Brand Leadership Experience

RELOCATION: Relocation Package Available

 

The Director manages a portfolio of brands and a team of individuals, is a key member of the business unit leadership team, and has responsibility for the marketing function for the business unit. This individual has P&L responsibility for the brands and the portfolio, and is responsible for strategy, positioning and innovation. The Director will help with M&A, including identifying and evaluating acquisition targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing Strategy & Plans

Achieve annual sales, share of market, and profit objectives for the fiscal year

Develop and drive long-term vision, strategy and annual plans for the business in response to trends

In partnership with Finance, develop a long range financial plan based on the strategy, brand growth plans, category trends and innovation.

Partner with Marketing Services, Finance and Sales teams to develop and implement strategic plans and tactics within budget

Demonstrate critical thinking and proactively adjust strategies as needed to deliver plan

Develop deep understanding of financials and commodity markets and drivers

Business Management

Operate like a general manager, understanding every lever of the P&L to provide recommendations to deliver the financial plan.

Analyze and understand key business trends, track and report business results weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Provide recommendations to address issues in a timely manner.

Oversee and approve demand-generating opportunities, and price strategies that will drive profitable growth and increase market share.

Effectively provide direction to outside agencies (advertising, promotion, design, research, etc.) via internal partners in

Marketing Services

This individual will be responsible for maintaining certain customers in partnership with sales.

Innovation

Lead new item innovation and new product commercialization execution

In partnership with R&D develop/maintain 5year innovation pipeline balancing close in innovation

Organization Development and Team/People Management

Be an ambassador of our mission and culture across the entire business unit and company

Leads team reporting to the Vice President/General Manager. Allocates organizational resources in harmony with SBA priorities and strategic plans.

Coaches individual performance to improve the contribution and results of all direct reports

Proactively models/demonstrates leadership and functional skill competencies, and inspires and motivates team to achieve higher performance
