Building on the legacy and strengths of Johnson and Johnson Medical Device Companies of Canada (JJMDC), we are creating a National sales leader aligned to the OneMD organization that will allow for a coordinated and agile Orthopedic and Neurosurgery selling organization to address today’s evolving health care environment.  With a focus on activating insights to develop innovative, comprehensive solutions, we are inspired to advance patient care in greater ways within JJMDC while maintaining a key focus on the unique requirements of DePuySynthes (DS).  
The National Sales Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the DePuy Synthes Agent strategy and have direct accountability for the National Agent network.  This individual will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the DS field based selling team, a Technical Field Support Manager as well as the management of sales agent relationships. This position is responsible for the expansion of sales, attaining, forecasting and enabling positive business outcomes at the country level. 
Major Responsibilities:
•Lead and manage a large National Sales Agent network (18 agents representing approx.100 sales associates in the entire team) to drive profitability and growth•Lead the development of coordinated strategies within the DePuySynthes commercial organization to ensure there is alignment and synergy in both the DePuySynthes and JJMDC business and sales execution plans •Lead strategies and tactics which allow JJMDC to drive growth and expand our total market footprint•Deliver on both top line and profitability targets as established in the business plan•Define and execute long-term business growth strategy that drives increased sales, market share, and/or market growth opportunities•Gain market insights through interaction with customers, consumers, payors, regulators and industry experts; develop a deep understanding of problems, needs, and translate into possible solutions•Collaborate across MD to leverage best practices, and integrates SME’s to deliver on customer priorities•Contributes to investment strategy decision making•Collaborate with marketing teams and strategic customer group to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for DePuy Synthes including but not limited to pricing decisions•Analyze macro environment, competitive landscape, market, industry, and economic trends to identify and evaluate opportunities for introduction of new products and value to the marketplace, multi-generation pipeline growth, increased revenue, and market growth •Review and manage portfolio relative to market demand and allocate resources according to greatest opportunities for growth •Analyze and report sales results against forecast to senior management as well as any adjustments made to business plans to ensure objectives are met •Establish and maintain relationships with key customers in both the clinical and administrative sides of the business•Monitor service levels and sales activity and make changes or additions to the DePuySynthes selling force as needed•Possess in-depth understanding of competitors' strategies, services, and products and anticipate their next moves •Establish sales goals and forecast•Manage departmental cost center to stay within budget•Monitor business progress, identify key learnings and initiate indicated actions as necessaryActively participate in all tendering and pricing proposal responses •Develop and propose innovative strategies and approaches to demonstrate the DePuy Synthes value proposition

•A minimum of a University degree is required, preferably in Business/Marketing or a related field•MBA preferred•Strong Medical Sales experience and deep knowledge of the Sales function, ideally within an Agent/Distributor model at a strategic level gained through 7 + years of progressive experience •Marketing or Market Development experience of 7+ years•Minimum 5 years of Sales Manager/Leadership and people management experience•Experience in Medical Devices industry; experience in Key Account Management or Commercial Management role •Ability to travel 75% of the time is required•French/English bilingualism an asset•Excellent knowledge of the Orthopedic/Neurosurgery market, (Products, HCP’s, KOL’s, Buying groups, etc.)
