Description

The Senior Business Systems Analyst is a strategic technology partner responsible for aligning technology direction to business goals in order to drive business value. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will define key processes and requirements, create technology roadmaps, act as subject matter expert for technology-related processes and systems, and provide technology leadership and project management for application implementations.

 Responsibilities:

  • Works with business partners to define and document key business processes and requirements
  • Possesses deep understanding and experience with change and release management practices
  • Defines and documents data flow, data exchange, and data storage requirements
  • Defines and documents business intelligence requirements for various constituents
  • Project manages implementation of technology solutions according to Portola’s software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Manages external vendors to deliver technology solutions, capabilities and support
  • Manages application lifecycles, ensuring all changes are controlled, tested, validated, and communicated
  • Facilitates resolution of Tier 2 and 3 application issues
  • Works with business partners to create business cases for technology solutions
  • Creates technology roadmaps to align with business priorities
  • Builds strong, trusted relationships with business partners

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or the equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience
  • 10 years of experience in the following areas: business analysis, project management, system integration, enterprise solution delivery and vendor management
  • Ability to manage a project team throughout the entire project lifecycle from problem definition, requirements definition, design, development, testing and implementation
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans, manage critical path and enterprise project oversight
  • Experience with various project management and delivery methodologies: combination of Waterfall and/or Agile approaches
  • Ability to lead project teams and managing highly complex and visible projects; influencing a cross-matrix organization of varied business units, technologies, and risks
  • Experience in managing complex integration and reporting projects requiring coordination of resources at different levels
  • Ability to implement and manage enterprise roadmaps
  • Deep understanding of software/application best practices for testing
  • Knowledge and expertise in managing complex, heterogeneous integration
  • Knowledge and expertise in managing business intelligence deliveries through metric analysis, KPI formulation and development of well-defined visualization
  • Ability to facilitate and lead effective and time-sensitive meetings
  • Strong organization, documentation and presentation skills across multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of MDM (Veeva Network/OpenData), CRM (Veeva Salesforce), Integration (Dell Boomi, SSIS), Business Intelligence (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, Microstrategy) a plus
  • A minimum of 8years progressively responsibleexperience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on commercial systems a plus
  • Experience with launch of a new pharmaceutical product desirable
  • Working knowledge of Aggregate Spend (Sunshine Act) regulations and Speaker’s Bureau Program a plus
  • Expertise with Intranet/Internet Development and email campaign management a plus
