The Role

We are looking for an experienced SQL DBA with Windows Server and IIS experience, who is client-focused, and who likes to collaborate with infrastructure engineers and application developers when solving problems at scale.

You have supported large production environments in the past and feel strongly about stability, high-availability, uptime, and security. You have a passion for analyzing data and you take an improvement-based approach to everything. You feel confident in your ability to apply industry best practices, as well as being able to come up with creative solutions when needed.

You are confident in your ability to deal with production issues, plan for the future, and help the team do the same.

You love being part of a tight team of experts where you can immediately see the results of your contributions when solving technical and business problems. You are looking for a place that gives you space to learn and develop your skills, and the ability to directly apply those learnings to your work.

You should be able to:

  • Implement and support production SQL databases hosted on-premise and in Azure.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and work with the team to detect and prevent future occurrences.

  • Communicate effectively with both non-technical and technical individuals.

  • Create automated tasks, and custom jobs and scripts for quality control.

  • Provide operational intelligence by collecting and analyzing SQL performance data, and provide optimization recommendations based on your analysis.

  • Collaborate with the team, and the extended business and IT communities, to make recommendations and decisions that facilitate stability, growth, and performance.

  • Write clear, comprehensible documentation to educate a variety of audiences.
Manage your time and priorities effectively to balance daily ongoing work, and complex projects.
