Functional Overview

 

The Sales Manager is responsible for leveraging business knowledge to deliver profit plan targets (top line and bottom line objectives). In this position, you will work closely with the US Merchandising and Demand Planning teams to hit the US business plans across all categories in KitchenAid Small Appliances (Electrics and Non-Electrics).


 

  • Meet/exceed monthly sales volume, revenue and Direct Contribution Margin targets by retailer

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop the US product / go to market strategy, leading strategic direction by retailer (product, promotions, in-store activity, etc)

  • Work with cross-functional team to define 3-year growth roadmap by retailer (product, promotions, marketing, etc)

  • Create incremental sell-through opportunities to achieve/exceed profit plan from a top line & bottom line perspective

  • Collaborate with merchandising to reduce excess inventory

  • Work with Demand Planning / Merch to develop POS based forecast.  Analyze and understand weekly drivers to POS.

  • Keep a finger on the pulse of business and marketing trends, analyzing and forecasting business results, taking action with Merchandising / Demand Planning teams to deliver profit plan

  • Track new product progress in the market; collaborate with cross-functional team to modify plans where appropriate

  • Practice agility, creative problem solving by working independently with frequent short deadlines

  • Own execution to the field through collaboration with the demand / merchandising / product teams


Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field,

  • Minimum 5 years of account management and/or merchandising experience with premium national retail accounts in durable goods, consumer packaged goods, and sales  (i.e. Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Kohls, etc... 

  • Experience with department store retail and distribution channels with premium national retail accounts.

  • 30-50% travel required within the US,

  • Challenger sales mentality, with proven success in driving growth

  • Strong analytical abilities with the ability to work in Microsoft excel, powerpoint, etc (strong computer skills and aptitude)

  • Possess an in-depth understanding of trade channel selling processes/channel management, and financial analysis

  • Exceptional communicator with impeccable interpersonal skills, clear and effective writing, and excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to lead through influence and proven partnership with cross-functional teams

  • In-depth knowledge of products and brands

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Project management and proven organizational skills
