As a Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities for Boundless software products and services. You will help craft and write the messaging and positioning for products. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into business benefits is crucial.  In your role as a Product Marketing Manager you will be the expert in buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria and will transfer that knowledge to the marketing, sales, product management and engineering teams.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Develop - meaning you will write - product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market and act as one of our key product evangelists

Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of our products to the sales team and develop and write the sales tools that support the selling process of our products

Product launch – plan the marketing launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan related to all marketing components

Market intelligence – represent the Voice of the Customer, be the expert on our buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them

Demand generation – develop the strategy and work with the demand generation director to implement marketing programs and campaigns that drive demand for our products

Requirements

Experience in GIS, geography, computer science, management information systems, or relevant field

Experience in the geospatial marketplace, including an understanding of geospatial web services and general market trends

5+ years of software product marketingexperience with at least 2years experience in a field facing role

Open source experience a plus

Bachelor’s in business or marketing

Experience with the Wordpress CMS system

Very strong written communication skills - must be able to write compelling content

Very strong presentation skills - unafraid to present to an audience: in person or remotely

Ability to deliver a product demo

Examples of previous content creation, writing, presentations required for consideration

Willing to travel25%

Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties

Experience and ability to manage a team is prefered
