SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the review of new designs to ensure the plant’s ability to manufacture the unit and meet scheduled production timelines.
  • Coordinate design and manufacturing reviews to include product design, materials, and processes.
  • Provide technically accurate designs including product concepts, assemblies, and components for use in line extension products.
  • Research new materials and processes to enhance the level of technology in the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct product quality meetings designed to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Interact with all business teams, management, manufacturing and sales.
  • Develop new product concepts to the point of proven functionality.
  • Review and approve production drawings and ECO’s prior to release.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Execute engineering programs on time and within budget.
  • Lead the product development process for WI.
  • Lead the development of new products in retail, industrial, commercial and new market channels.
  • Assist in customer presentations with the sales teams.
  • Prioritize programs and provide recommendations on resource to the General Manager.
  • Provide technically accurate designs including product concepts, assemblies, and components for use in line extension products.
  • Monitor new product launches, identify and resolve associated problems to maintain launch schedule.
  • Analyze new product designs for reliability and safety issues.
  • Research new materials and processes to enhance the level of technology in the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct product quality meetings designed to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Review and approve production drawings and ECOs prior to release.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing technology.
  • Minimum of three years professional experience in product design.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with CAD, Microsoft office programs and Oracle applications.
