Responsibilities

Join our DCGS-A Integrations Process Improvement (PI)/Product and Process Quality Assurance (PPQA) team responsible for ensuring efficient processes and quality deliveries of a diverse DCGS-A family of products. In the PI/PPQA service area we monitor adherence to, and improvement of, our government customer’s software development processes and procedures, and ensure the quality of their products.

Responsibilities

As a Service Area Lead and PI/PPQA Specialist, you will be part of a team that performs two primary functions: PI activities to review and revise existing software development processes and procedures, improve efficiency, and produce repeatable results; PPQA activities to ensure the accuracy and quality of delivered documents and software products.  Specifically, you will:

  • Manage the PI/PPQA team by receiving and prioritizing customer service requests, assigning responsibilities and tasks to team members, ensuring tasks are completed, initiating PI based on PPQA findings, and promoting a culture of quality within Team Sotera
  • Identify, coordinate, and conduct training to improve the team’s capabilities
  • Research and identify industry best practices for Quality Control (QC), QA, and PI
  • Perform QC and QA of contract deliverables when requested, and monitor organizational aspects of QC and QA compliance
  • Review, edit, and revise standard operating procedures, task instructions, process documents, templates, and other documents as directed
  • Conduct audits of processes and products throughout the work-cycle
  • Perform inquiries and cause analysis as directed to render a finding
  • Perform courtesy spot checks on request
  • Initiate, perform, or support PI efforts based on observations or customer direction
  • Maintain the PI/PPQA documentation in accordance with best business practices
  • Perform Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) process improvement tasks and activities
  • Prepare for and participate in Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI) related activities
  • Advise management of risks that may affect project schedules
  • Analyze trends, develop reports, facilitate communication, and provide feedback on process performance
  • Work as a team leader while demonstrating personal initiative and ability to perform individual tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting with 9 years of relevant work experience (or 4 additional years’ relevant experience in place of a degree) is required
  • Demonstrated high level experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Process Improvement; CMMI training and/or experiencepreferred
  • Demonstrated experience exercising effective written and oral communication skills and abilities; experience developing presentations and briefing senior management preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team that delivered a product or service
  • Works well with a team and independently
  • Active DOD SECRET Clearance (TS/SCI eligibility)

 

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum qualifications:

  • 3+ years direct experience in working with CMMI for development projects
  • 1+ years of direct experience as a SCAMPI team member
  • Certified CMMI Associate
  • Demonstrated experience managing a multidiscipline team that delivered products and services
  • Experience advising mid-level and senior management on quality initiatives, impacts, and concerns
  • Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance
  • Ability to work with a team:
    • Work as Team Leader with team members, service area personnel, and customer to perform Quality Assurance activities and Process Improvement projects
    • Extrapolate requirements and tasks from customer provided product or process description, effectively communicate work requirements to the team, and supervise to ensure success
    • Integrate individual efforts into the team’s overarching mission
    • Handle multi-tasking and changes to tasking
    • Be able to execute tasking with minimal guidance.
