SOFTWARE ENGINEER I
Contribute as a development resource and lead on small to mid level projects.
Prepare level of effort estimates.
Participate and contribute to code review sessions.
Participate in project and IT sub-team meetings as a development resource and SME.
Submit and maintain accurate progress/status reports to management as needed.
Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and continuously mentor fellow IT staff members for creating backup resources for all applications.
Requirements and design:
Collaborate with business owners and management to gather, assess and document requirements for new projects and enhancements.
Propose, analyze and evaluate various design approaches.
Create technical design specifications.
Develop new applications and modify existing applications.
Deliver high quality/low defect code releases.
Provide transition documentation to UAT and support teams.
Provide testing support to QA and UAT teams.
Deploy releases to test and production environments.
Follow the corporate change control process.
Participate in on-call support.
Take ownership of incidents within the SLA's.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Support team members to resolve complex issues.
Track and respond to service requests.
Work with vendors as needed for system issue resolution, maintenance and upgrades.
Monitor and maintain systems as needed to ensure system availability.
Document support issues to maintain a support repository for the team.
Education & Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
3+ Years with Bachelor’s degree or 9+ years’ work experience.
Proficient in Java, ASP.NET, Winforms/WPF, C#, SQL Server/DB2
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in MVC
Experience in SOAP/REST services
Strong understanding of SDLC process
Contact Center IVR experience is a plus
