Job Description

Position Overview:

Sageworks is seeking an outstanding Software Sales professional to join our Sales Team in Raleigh, NC.  This role has significant marketing and product team support and will have high impact on the Accounting Technology Division and organizational growth. You will proactively identify new opportunities through marketing provided generated warm leads and sell financial analysis software to accounting firms and business advisors. The ideal candidate will have proven experience qualifying, initiating, developing and closing new business, and preferably a background in SaaS software with exposure to accounting/finance. You will manage the entire sales process, including identifying and initiating new sales opportunities, securing meetings with prospects, delivering sales presentations, negotiating and closing new business. Since the position requires understanding customer needs and presenting viable solutions, excellent communication and listening skills are necessary.


  • Play a key role in the growth of an entrepreneurial business
  • Achieve monthly sales goals by quickly identifying and qualifying new opportunities through marketing generated warm leads, saleschannels, partners, and word of mouth, etc.
  • Continually advance sales opportunities and schedulesales calls with key decision makers within accounting and business advisory firms
  • Consult with prospects to identify customer needs by asking probing questions
  • Learn products and technology to effectively conduct product demonstrations personally and via the internet; this is a financialtechnology product requiring comfort with both accounting and technology
  • Understand the prospect’s business environment and communicate our value proposition
  • Negotiate and close business to meet sales and revenue goals/objectives
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of all opportunities, contacts, and account history





  • Minimum of 3-5+ years inbound salesexperience, building credibility and developing relationships
  • Proven success achieving or exceeding inbound sales goals selling to C-Level executives/decision makers
  • Ability to identify, qualify, quickly assesses needs and product fit
  • Nurture prospects to closed sales in an effective time period
  • Engage prospects professionally with excellent presentation, speaking, writing, and listening skills
  • Speak confidently on financial and accounting topics without knowing every detail
  • Comfortable with technology and a strong interest in accounting or finance – experiencepreferred
  • Willingness to quickly learn products and perhaps travel up to 20% of the time
  • Finance/Accounting experiencepreferred
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial rapidly changing work culture; self-starter, flexible, adaptable, smart, persuasive and proactive in decisions – you can “figure it out”
  • BS/BA degree with strong academic background from an accredited institution
