The National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) is developing vehicle autonomy technology for a range of military and commercial applications.  NREC is looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer with broad experience in electro-mechanicalengineering, drive-by-wire vehicle HW and SW design, sensor data acquisition, computing systems design, and autonomy sensor HW and SW integration to support a diverse set of projects.  Working as a team member with occasional leadership roles, carries out complex engineering and programming tasks which cannot be fully defined at the outset. Frequently faced with problems that require analysis and studies of appropriate design and software approaches.  Specific duties include engineering complete vehicle drive-by-wire systems, designing packages with multiple autonomy sensors (perception and navigation) with integrated electronics, and developing and implementing C and C++ code for control systems, user interfaces, drive by wire control, and positioning systems.  Some supervisory responsibility for schedules and for directing the work of technicians and other staff members may be expected.
