Under the supervision of the VP-Compensation & HRIS, the IT Business Solutions Manager will serve as an internal best practices consultant and IT liaison to Human Resources, manage the HRportfolio of IT projects and lead the implementation of Human Resource systems, intranet applications and lean process development. Working with HR functional COE project teams and management, the BSM will lead global HRtechnology strategy development, and determine business and system objectives and solutions in alignment with and support of Human Resources strategies as well as leading-edge external HRtechnology solutions. The BSM will drive value through new technology introductions to improve HR processes.
The BSM supports the IT needs of Human Resources through project definition, project sourcing, project oversight, IT Project Requests, and White Paper/ACT collaboration. The BSM is responsible for ensuring sound financial management of the Human Resources IT spend.
As necessary, the BSM will assist or provide project leadership and coordination of project teams. This may include responsibility for the preparation of high-level systems specifications, user and systems test criteria and management reporting. Project management and control for major projects include directing, scheduling, motivating and coordinating the activities of IT associates, HRassociates, and vendors assigned to a specific systems project.
This position has latitude for unreviewed actions and decisions relative to system design and project management. This position requires human resources business process knowledge and re-engineering skills, an ability to provide oversight to a robust IT project portfolio. Good general business knowledge is required to operate effectively in this position.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required.
Experience in either IT project management or Human Resources required; strong knowledge of HR best practices and processes preferred.
Significant experience in leading and managing cross-functional projects (7-10 years) with a history of successful medium to large-scale projects; experience in IT projects a plus
Human Resources experiencepreferred, with transactional HRshared services experience a plus
Solid process development skills; training in Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies a plus
IT Portfolio Management experiencepreferred (prioritization, risk assessment, investment research/guidance, technology trends and strategy)
Excellent written and oral communications skills to interact productively with all levels of staff and management.
Competent facilitator balanced with high urgency and execution orientation.
