Your Job

You will work directly with Government customers to understand their current and future satellite mission requirements.  Including:  conducting analysis and providing inputs to shape SES satellite fleet and end-to-end solutions capabilities;

supporting the development of new programs, services and product offerings; managing a pipeline of business opportunities; planning and executing strategic business captures; writing competitive proposals; and supporting the establishment/stand-up of new contracts and programs. 

Your Profile

To be successful in this role you must have extensive knowledge of satellite technology, market trends, and procurement practices of the Intelligence Community and DoD commercial SATCOM market. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Engage with Intelligence Community/DoD customers to identify SATCOM opportunities
  • Identify potential opportunities and develop responses to customer RFIs and RFPs
  • Draft technical subject white paper reports and provides oral presentations to customers  
  • Applytechnology and products into practical applications utilizing SES commercial satellites to meet current and future U.S. Government requirements
  • Assist when appropriate and proposes the introduction of new satellite fleet assets, products, and service offerings that will meet the needs of U.S. Government customers
  • Provide support to sales staff as required; including technical presentations to customers
  • Establish/maintain client relationships with the various parties to anticipate/resolve problems 
  • Organizes customer presentations, site demonstrations/visits to inform client of services

Furthermore, you

  • Manage a pipeline of business opportunities
  • Be responsible for sales/profit growth and for developing/guiding new product programs
  • Lead proposal efforts and writes technical proposals in response to Government requests for satellite fleet and end-to-end satellite solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to develop proposals. Active involvement in proposal writing/delivery is a mandatory requirement of this position
  • Work interactively with the senior staff on large strategic opportunities, providing support wherever possible for activities that generate or improve revenues
  • Provide strategic planning and analytic inputs for the corporate strategic growth plan
  • Prepare contractual proposals, including creative, innovative, novel, unique approaches
  • Gather and disseminate business intelligence to provide early identification of new business opportunities, the competitive environment and key success factors
  • Develop account plans for strategic programs consistent with SES GS  business goals 
  • Develop win strategies for specific business opportunities by understanding the opportunities, requirements, customers, competitors, and the competitive environments
  • Manage programsecurity for separate Government-sponsored programs including:  Manages/documents classified shipping, receiving, and control of classified materials in conjunction with customer and industry requirement


  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or 4 to 8years business development experience working in the satellite communications field
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD commercial SATCOM market
  • Knowledge of satellite technology, market trends, procurement practices of IC and DoD
  • Possess a solid background in U.S. Government operations/mission applications, employment of satellite communications capabilities, and knowledge of acquisition/procurement process
  • Ability to identify, analyze, target, and win new business opportunities for satellite services
  • Ability to work with U.S. military and civilian agencies to identify their satellite requirements, develop/shape applicable satellite fleet, end-to-end solutions and deliver services/products
  • Experience preparing contract proposals, including identifying creative, innovative, novel, unique concepts and approaches to resolve customer needs
  • Ability to direct contract negotiations, assist and participate in the negotiation process 
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
  • Be eligible for Top Secret US Government security clearance
