As the Manager for Sage’s pre-sales technical engineers for Sage X3 and Sage People, you will work closely with sales leadership to develop long term strategic plans for our field sales engineering team to help meet our product revenue growth targets. You will help develop a team of Field Sales Engineers who are well-regarded subject matter experts by both customers and partners. As the FSE role executes alongside the sales team and our partner channel, your team will have a technical community leadership role and play a central role in executing the plan to make Sage Canada and its business partners the top performing business at Sage WW – all while delighting customers.

Specifically responsible for identifying, interpreting and defining customer/prospects needs, the Field Sales Engineer (FSE) team reports to the Manager, Field Sales Engineers and works closely with clients to define their business objectives and requirements. The FSE manager is responsible for understanding the Sage X3 and Sage People platform, but more critically, will build and develop a high calibre team of technical professional with consistent, field-focused execution to drive positive client outcomes and sales as its core mandate. Key Responsibilities• Develop strategic plans and sets goals for team
• Keep sales leadership informed of employee progress and issues
• Collaborate across functional areas and business units to identify best practices
• Implement a program to up-level technical skills and to enable our channel partners to train with Sage FSEs
• Work to remove operational and organizational barriers that may impede the success of the team
• Work with other functional or product groups outside of Sales Engineering team to ensure maximum effectiveness
• Coach and mentor direct reports
• Interact internally and externally with management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• 8+ years of software sales engineering experience
• 1+ years of software sales engineering management experience
