Job Description:

The Data Communications Architect is accountable for strategic and tactical planning project management, capital deployment and acquisition, vision and forecasting, solution architecture, and design of computer networks. These include Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN/Wi-Fi), VPN, Firewalls, DMZs, and Internet. In general, the Data Communications Architect will not regularly perform system administration tasks, but will instead concentrate on high-level network related duties such as network architecture, network design, choosing of network devices, troubleshooting outages and/or performance issues. This individual will determine the needs as the network grows and plan the vision and architecture to support this growth. This Architect actively monitors system network performance to identify and solve data communication problems in performing equipment repairs or replacements. The individual actively participates in technical research and development to drive innovation with the data communications environments. They are to serve Information Services and its customers by providing best practices, value-add technologies, process engineering, and quality assurance within the network enterprise.   Required:

  • Five years in enterprise network architecture, analysis, or design
  • Bachelor Degree
  • One of: CCDP or CCIE or CCNA or CCNP


  • Five years in a healthcare setting
