Our experienced staff of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Mental Health Specialists, Parent Partners and other therapists/counselors provide case management, mental health care and a range of support services in schools, homes or other community settings.  Our dedicated teams work collaboratively and in partnership with family members, school administrators and faculty, county social workers, case managers, probations officers and other agencies.

Job Summary:

This position monitors and provides  direction and guidance with quality assurance and compliance functions of assigned regional programs, including but not limited to: a) incidents, accidents, and client complaints, related investigations, and corrective activities; b) licensing/certification-related tasks including LPS designation, external surveys, citations, and corrective activities; c) program and documentation reviews (annual/ad hoc audits); d) policy and procedure development and implementation and related training; e) orientation of new program Department Heads/QA staff to QA/Compliance;  f) compliance with federal and state regulations and county standards of quality care.; and, g) the SBHG Total Quality Management system (TQM) including general consultation with system development to ensure adherence to TQM program, CQI processes, Rapid Cycle Improvement Process Teams, QI initiatives, and related staff training. h) Oversight of Joint Commission processes to ensure Joint Commission standard compliance.

Job Duties:

  1. Review internal incident reports, assisting programs to identify trends and potential liability.

  2. Assist in the preparation of all SBHG affiliated program licenses and certifications e.g. CRT/CTF/PHF licenses; Medi-Cal certifications.

  3. Conduct Annual Basic, Quality and Billing Audits of each program per the SBHG Annual Audit Calendar.

    • Provide consultation reports which identify and support corrective action plans to address deficiencies

  4. Consultation and coordination of QA and TQM activities at SBHG affiliated programs through liaison and partnership with agency QA Directors/Managers/Coordinators including

    • Implementation of the TQM systems including key indicators, probes, and other data collection;

    • CQI council preparation -- pre-planning, presentation and proceedings

    • CQI committee foci, meetings, minutes, reports, and follow-through

    • Program quality controls and audit processes including maintaining the Joint Commission standards

    • Quality initiatives and utilization of Rapid Cycle Improvement processes

  5. Program Reviews and Checklists

    • Conduct Quality Assurance audits and.

    • Conduct ad hoc reviews as needed, and special QA studies as assigned.

    • Assist in the development/revisions of Audit Tools and Probes, as well as other TQM tools such as Utilization Review and Peer Review methodologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

LEVEL I

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services, Mental Health or Nursing discipline plus 6 years of experience in a mental health setting including experience providing quality assurance support or oversight. Certification in Quality Assurance, Healthcare Compliance, or Health Information Management preferred. Four additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

     

LEVEL II

  1. Master’s Degree in behavioral science, or Nursing plus 4 years’ experience in a mental health setting which includes supervision, training and consultation. Certification in Quality Assurance, Healthcare Compliance or Health Information Management preferred.

  2. Master’s Degree in behavioral science, or Nursing plus 4 years’ experience in a mental health setting which includes supervision, training or consultation PLUS licensure as an RN, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Ph.D. or Psy.D.
