Reporting to the Director of Clinical Education for Ministry Services, the Clinical Education Specialist serves as a member of the ministry education team and functions as an instructor and facilitator in the delivery of ministry-wide education and professional development programs. The Clinical Education Specialist also functions to support clinical education and innovation of the intraprofessional team.  The Clinical Education Specialist acts as a consultant to the education departments of ministry hospitals and ambulatory departments to develop annual education plans, competencies, and the promotion of innovative education modalities.  







Requires Master’s Degree in Nursing and at least 3-5 years of experience in curriculum design and education.       





A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of OSF and the Sisters of the Third Order of Saint Francis.





Requires licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois. Certification in within 3 years of hire required. 





Knowledge of the content, intent and application of regulations, policies and standards applicable to the business function(s) under designated scope of authority.





Knowledge of the principles, standards, and technology applicable to education, simulation, research, and Magnet.





 Knowledge of the principles and practices of continuous process/performance improvement.





Ability to convey information effectively in verbal and written communication and through group/business presentations.





Ability to use automated systems/applications/software and office equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency.





Ability to successfully lead, develop and evaluate the work of those within the Institute of Learning.





 Knowledge of the healthcare industry in general, and of the vision, values and strategies of OSF.





Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.







Ability to keep abreast of trends in contemporary education techniques, simulation, and evidence based practice










Previous experience in research and simulation preferred
