Principal Subject Matter Expert 2 ( SOCOM Technical Support SME )
The Southeast Division (SED) of Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an immediate need for a full-time Principal Subject Matter Expert 2 position with a strong background in SOCOM technical support. Primary work location will be USASOC at Fort Bragg NC with frequent customer meetings as related SOCOM support elements. Previous assignments at SOCOM and related support elements involved with Operational Intelligence experience a must. This position requires strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with Government leads at all levels and assist in identifying priority technical issues that can be transitioned to engineering teams for corrective actions.
The successful applicant will work closely with SOCOM and related support elements to assist in identifying new ways that Intelligence Community products/capabilities can be better optimized to support SOCOM analysts and warfighters. This role will require significant interactions with all levels of SOCOM employees and will focus on the prioritization of technical activities that will result in timely new capabilities to benefit SOCOM. The position will be imbedded at USASOC but will require frequent interactions with SOCOM employees across Fort Bragg.
Additionally, the applicant will work closely with software development teams to review current capabilities and requirements to ensure that new capabilities successfully meet the needs of SOCOM and focus on exploiting existing GEOINT data. Position may require occasional travel to other SOCOM support facilities and Washington DC for customer meetings and technical exchanges. Note that this is a developer position requiring that the successful candidate be aware of the need to avoid all budget/acquisition discussions.
Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI required
Candidates will be required to have the following general experience and knowledge:
- Bachelor's Degree with 16+ years' experience
- Significant working knowledge and experience with providing operational and strategic information to senior Government decision makers
- Detailed understanding of SOCOM and related support elements and how they interact with the Intelligence Community with focus on NGA
- Minimum of fifteen years of multi-discipline operations/intelligence analytical intel experience with emphasis on supporting Army, joint and/or Combatant Commands
- Previous experience in the use of at least two intelligence disciplines (SIGINT, GEOINT, MASINT, HUMINT)
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, presentation, and communication skills
