As a part of Solvay’s Coatis Global Business Unit (GBU), the Sr. Account Executive will be responsible for developing, managing and growing Solvay’s Solvents business in the US. The incumbent will focus on market intelligence, competitive analysis, formulation of account strategies, new product applications, and strengthen customer relationships.
In addition, this position will have responsibility to develop and deliver a strategic plan for the business unit in the North America region in alignment with the global business roadmap. This includes preparation of the budget, monitoring and optimizing overall business performance, proposing opportunities to improve or optimize within the region and developing strategic partnerships as needed.
• Responsible for account development, product introductions and increasing market penetration to capitalize on and substantially grow Solvent market segments. • Establish, maintain and grow strong customer relationships that result in increased Solvaysales in the region.
• Responsible for developing/implementing strategies for existing and targeted accounts, including predicting competitor(s) moves which guide market decisions, through the understanding of market/customer needs and developing market intelligence, both independently and by working with marketing/business.• Negotiate, communicate and implement price changes with the customer, assess market pricing and make pricing recommendations.• Maintain long term customer relationships, interacting at high level and penetrating various functional roles throughout the organization while combining history, continuity of the relationship and vision.• Achieve KPI objectives (sales, contribution margin, profitability, etc.) according to global marketing and pricing strategy, as well as commercial guidelines.
• Accountable for turnover, contribution margin, accurate forecast, opportunities management, negotiatingcontract terms and conditions, managing customer interfaces (quality, technical, supply, etc.), and pricing implementation.• Coordinate the new application developments at the targeted accounts.• Foster, monitor and coordinate the pipeline of initiatives and projects (commercial and technical) with customers.• Support and facilitate product launches andportfolioeducation at the targeted customers together withother relevant functions.• Plan and leadcontractnegotiations and close deals (product choice, pricing, service, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:• B.S. degree• Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in the chemical or distribution markets• Willing and able to travel up to 50% domestically (minimal international travel).
Preferred Qualifications:• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical fields.• MBA is plus.
