Microsoft Experiences, Studios and Community Marketing is seeking an energetic and high caliber individual to take on a Senior Global EventMarketing Manager role to manage a highly visible global portfolio of industry and thought leadership event programs. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in working with diverse Microsoft teams such as industry and product marketing, sales, PR and other key stakeholder organizations to develop unique Microsoft Experiences that tell or amplify the One Microsoft story, are audience centric, and drive business impact.
The ideal candidate will utilize their deep event marketing and communications expertise, exceptional project management and collaboration skills to manage event planning and ensure all stakeholders are working together to deliver customer focused high-quality event programs. You will have a deep understanding of event marketing and communications, proven success in planning and executing global events, solid project management skills, and strong attention to detail and have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
As a Senior Global EventMarketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of select event programs while helping to advance the vision, internal brand and strategic direction of the department. The position requires superior organization, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as being able to manage resources and budgets effectively and creatively. You will be an experienced marketer with a solid understanding of measurement methodologies and can drive thought leadership, contribute to building individual event strategies that align to business objectives and ensure event success and excellence in event marketing execution.
You must have a real passion for events alongside a positive, self-motivated, can-do attitude and will step in at any point to help or support the team and do whatever it takes to drive successful outcomes. -Plan, manage and execute corporate tier 1 global events
-Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on event programs
-Manage the day-to-day relationship and activities with external vendors and event partners
-Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
-Determine fiscal requirements and manage eventbudgets
-Coordinate event environment (signage, branding etc.) and manage the execution of events onsite
-Analyze event operations and prepare and implement recommendations for improving operational efficiencies within the events
-Trouble shoot, and smooth issues related to the successful execution of event programs
-Provide post event analysis, budget recaps, internal feedback and incorporate learning into future event plans
-Ensure our event presence is on strategy and consistent
-Conduct research and identify new event opportunities for the company
-Exceptional written and oral communication skills required
-5+ years of relevant events experience in a marketing organization
-Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
-Ability to develop strong networks and build credibility within the organization
-Ability to perform well in a team environment and manage multiple deadline-driven projects
-Must be flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask
-Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well as flexibility with similar alternative programs
-Ability to process a vast amount of information and understand and prioritize competing business needs
-Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors at all levels to meet business goals
-Proven ability to take direction and input to develop effective and engaging events that will achieve organizational goals
-Willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to get the work done or go the extra mile. Strong and positive personal work ethic
-Flexible personality and quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency
-Highly organized self-starter
-Willingness to travel to industry and company-sponsored events (approximately 20-30% travel)
-BA/BS from an accredited university
-Experience working with a technology company is a plus, but not required
