As part of the National Operations team, the mandate of the Senior Manager, Curriculum & Design is to lead the innovative design and development of learning to support all front line learning, including new hire agent and manager curricula, project and busienss intiatives and programs.  

 

You will leverage innovative technologies and blended learning solutions to construct a comprehensive, engaging and effective learning experience that will prepare employeess to deliver proactive Advice & Solutions in a mult-channel environment. This mandate includes, but is not limited to the asssessment and implementation of technologies to support learning, performance and knowledge management, content creation and curation, and the design and execution of learning and performance solutions. The Senior Manager, Curriculum & Instructional Design will consult, collaborate and strategize with internal and external partners and business stakeholders to ensure that the learning solutions recommended align to the bank and business unit’s strategic focus, and bank technologyinfrastructure, and can be measured against key performance metrics.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

1. Develop and maintain impactful and engaging learning experiences across all programs and curriculum:

  • Lead and support development of innovative learning design strategy and roadmap that delivers and sustains an impactful learning experience across our new hire curriculum and learning projects
  • Assess learning needs and make recommendations to support the Learning Transformation, New Hire Curriculum, Projects (Instructional Design), and Business Initiatives
  • Define new performance outcomes and learning paths for CSO, RBO, Consultant, Team Lead and Manager roles as the business continues to evolve and digitize
  • Deliver a clear and meaningful performance-based evaluation process designed to ensure learners and managers can clearly measure progress and gaps against clearly articulated milestones

 

2. Lead the execution of the curriculum design and learning strategy as follows:

  • Define and implement curriculum design principles and standards that ensure both consistency, flexibility and sustainability of learning materials
  • Design learning content and a curriculum that delivers clear and actionable knowledge resources leveraging content curation and knowledge management best practices
  • Ensure alignment to adult learning principles and instructional design best in class approaches and build this expertise within the team
  • Ensure all digital content conforms to bank technology, learning management system and accessibility standards

 

3. Lead a team in the design and delivery of learning and performance solutions that will enable the CCC  to effectively deliver against the stated business objectives:

  • Manage and coordinate large and complex curriculum and learning design projects with vendors and internal designers, developers, and facilitators
  • Design, develop and deliver customized and engaging blended learning solutions using a variety of modalities and technologies (eLearning, Instructor-led Training (ILT), Virtual Instructor-led Training (VILT), Social Learning, Informal, Podcast, Videos, Mobile Learning, Simulation Training – Assima, and interval learning - Axonify
  • Support execution of learning technology roadmap from a design perspective.
  • Ensure learning and performance solutions supporting system, product, sales & service, new hire training and new skills training meet learning and business needs of  front line agents and Managers/Team Leads

 

4. Act as a Relationship Manager and Blended Learning Strategist for the CCC:

  • Advise business partners of capabilities and limitations of various design delivery methods from a learning and performance consulting perspective
  • Actively support and collaborate with larger CCC Learning & Development team in the design and delivery of learning
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Global Learning, to gather input on the strategy and roadmap, and ensure alignment to the Canadian Bank, the Contact Centre Business Transformation, and other learning transformation initiatives
  • Maintain a strong level of knowledge and understanding of the needs of the business (short and long-term objectives and goals) and align learning and performance solutions to meet/exceed these needs
  • Attend regular project team meetings and provide status updates on activities, identifying any issues or challenges to ensure programs are delivered within established timelines and budgets
  • Work with industry vendors to source off-the-shelf or manage the design of customized learning solutions

 

5. Demonstrate strong team people management and leadership to motivate and sustain individual and team performance:

  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and scheduled performance reviews
  • Foster and develop a strong, positive team environment, collaboration, driving employee empowerment, innovation and a high degree of engagement
  • Manage workload effectively, especially during peak periods

 

Skills:

 

  • Experience in a learning leader role, collaborating with senior leaders and stakeholders to create learning strategies
  • Experience managing large-scale curriculum design and blended learning projects from the assessment phase through to implementation
  • Demonstrated experience in performance consulting practices and instructional design using ADDIE Experience with leading change management initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team in the design and development of creative and engaging blended learning solutions (eLearning, ILT, VILT, social, mobile, interval) that meet learning and business needs from the analysis phase to implementation and sustainment for a variety of programs including onboarding, systems, products, sales & service, coaching and management programs.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, producing, testing and launching digital (eLearning, podcasts, video, virtual training) content that conforms to bank technology, learning management system and accessibility standards
  • College or University degree, preferably in Adult Education, Training, Human Resources or equivalent with 5-7 years work experience
  • Experience in a people management and coaching role
  • CTDP designation an asset
  • MEd. an asset
