A Day In The Life Typically Includes:


  • Exercise 10,000% compliance to all environmental, safety, and business practices
  • Support project teams in the development and implementation of projects using the Georgia-Pacific Capital Project Work Processes
  • Complying with and ensuring excellence in all areas of compliance, environmental and safety
  • Designing projects through development of scopes and estimates, reviewing quotes and recommending equipment and materials, and facilitating design reviews with operations and maintenance personnel
  • Coordinating activities to deliver projects as defined in the scope of work and Decision Making Framework (DMF), including design, construction/installation, commissioning, startup, and documentation activities
  • Use economic thinking when evaluating equipment, vendors, and contractors
  • Provide material take-offs/bill of materials to be used for estimating and scheduling purposes.
  • Prepare/supervise the development of contract documents as required to include drawings and specifications
  • Perform design and evaluation of piping and/or equipment supports
  • Provide expert advice relating to Civil Engineering matters
  • Developing the scope to maintain and repair existing mill infrastructure
  • Managing contractor work effort to support a project schedule

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Civil OR Mechanical Engineering
  • Three (3) or more years of civil/structural project engineering work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience using CAD software


What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years of civil/structural project engineering work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Project Engineering experience with structural emphasis, including concrete, steel, structural, rotating element design and geotech
  • Large capital project management experience with budgets up to $5 million
  • Experience in the pulp/paper industry
  • Construction management experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
