Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI Services to Credit Unions is currently in the process of expanding our Technical Services team in Halifax to provide support of our Intel server environment and solutions. The primary role consists of providing professional technology support within a cross-functional IT support team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 3+ years’ experience in IT technology support within a cross-functional Enterprise
• Strong deskside support experience (Operating system and client application level support)
• Excellent Microsoft Windows workstation server operating systems administration skills
(install, configuration, patching etc.)
• Experience with enterprise backup application and related infrastructure
• Knowledge of enterprise virus protection and related strategies
• Strong service management process skills including Incident Management,
Problem Management and Change Management
• Experience working in a deadline environment with SLA Management and Project
Management requirements

• Service and Incident Management Requirements:
o Monitoring of incident, email and work request queues
o Client contact, collaboration, assistance related to incidents and work requests
o Ensure incidents and work requests are followed up and completed accurately and
o Create and update applicable knowledge articles and other documentation
o Perform other incident management, problem management, knowledge management
activities as required.
o Contribute to process and/or continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Work Experience:

• Knowledge of ITIL Framework
• Exposure in a banking environment or other environment with high availability requirements

Required Level of Education (include certifications):

• A diploma or degree from a post-secondary institution with a concentration in Information
• Technical certifications would be a significant asset (Microsoft, ITIL)

Must Have Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Windows Server operating system configuration and support
• VMWare & HyperV configuration, administration, and support
• Microsoft Terminal Services support
• Technical troubleshooting, triage, and problem solving
• Understanding of Change Management processes
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Advanced understanding of environment variable, Windows Registry, and Windows
Command Line / batch processes
• Microsoft Windows Update Services Administration
• Advanced Enterprise server and storage appliance installation, configuration and
maintenance experience
• Advanced troubleshooting skills

Nice to Have Technical Skills:

• Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange Server (including ActiveSync), Terminal Server
