Position at Backcountry

The Business Systems Analyst will play a key role in our implementation of SAP S4/HANA Cloud by supporting the migration of legacy data to SAP, integrating SAP data with other backend systems, and promoting adoption of SAPreporting capabilities across multiple departments. Once live on SAP, the Business Systems Analyst will support day-to-day business through analyzing existing systems and processes for efficiencies and improvements. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the implementation team for SAP’s largest e-commerceretailer on S4/HANA Cloud. This project will cover implementation procure to pay, inventory management, order to cash, and general ledger functions in SAP. This role will report to the Data Migration Team Lead for the duration of the implementation project, after which they will transition to a business operations team.

 

About the Job

  • Understand key business processes impacted by implementation and ensure necessary data is accessible in SAP H4/HANA Cloud to run business smoothly on launch date
  • Extract, consolidate, and analyze data from multiple data sources to be migrated to SAP
  • Define business rules and provide clean data sets to migrate to SAP
  • Work closely with SMEs and engineers to ensure an understanding of business requirements and practices
  • Communicate exceptions and data quality issues to team with recommendations
  • Prepare test plans and execute thorough testing of legacy data to be migrated and data warehouse integrations prior to go-live
  • Promote adoption of SAP native reporting capabilities through awareness and user training
  • Identify and define opportunities for process improvement and recommend to management
  • Collaborate in planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications

 

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in information systems or finance, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years experience as a business systems analyst, preferably in retail industry
  • Strong working knowledge of T-SQL, Excel, and relational database design
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting processes
  • Ability to reconcile priorities, adapt quickly to change, and meet deadlines
  • Capacity and desire to learn new skills to solve problems and meet business needs
  • Ability to collaboratively come to solutions as an engaged and motivated team member
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to clearly explain technical concepts in common vernacular
  • Experience with retaile-commerce business, including procure to pay and order to cash processes highly preferred
  • Prior ERP implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle databases or SAP products a plus
