Overview

The VP-National Accounts develop and execute sales strategies, tactics, and marketing plans for represented suppliers in assigned retail accounts. Manages the execution of customer programming, promotions, and pricing strategies to ensure attainment of goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct a team of Sales professionals providing a high level of leadership to drive sales objectives

• Manage, develop and maintain department budget

• Provide feedback to employees on company, supplier and individual performance goals

• Coach, train, hire, mentor, support and provide tools and resources for success to sales team

• Define vendor brand priorities for national account directors and support initiatives to accomplish the priorities throughout the year. This includes understanding all of the vendor portfolios and matching their brands with the customers priorities

• Manage and develop customer relationships with key decision makers

• Direct and manage customer service, resolve issues such as inventory concerns, price discrepancies, or sales representative concerns

• Serve as a key contributor in the achievement of our vendor’s strategic goals, focus on expanding their market presence while maximizing revenues

• Develop and implement an effective sales plan to generate revenue and menu share within national accounts

• Establish and maintain high-level, executive contact with accounts, focusing on the establishment and maintenance of strategic relationships

• Create, and present sales analysis presentations to sell products and services to customers or provide insights to vendors

• Communicate product improvements and release information to successfully enable world-class execution at the field level

• Utilize sales force automation tools to track all opportunities and prospect/customer related information

• Work with senior leadership to assist in the achievement of company goals and objectives

• Perform other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• 15 years of experience

• Brand knowledge in all categories of beer, wine, and spirits

• Direct sales experience with key customers and suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

• Master degree

• Certifications as CSS, CSW or Court of Sommeliers

• Be comfortable dealing with all levels of leadership

• Work with all corporate functions, and ownership

• Proficient with company sales systems including SAP, diver, AS 400, BI and other external information including Nielsen, Technomics, Y-drinks, Spectra

• Industry background in national accounts

• Knowledge of customer base is a plus

• Think strategically and work tactically
