Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Manager in Madison, Wisconsin (WI). Summary: The IT Manager will have overall responsibility for the enterprise infrastructure, including support of the IT Service Desk, servers, desktops, peripherals, storage / archival systems, networks, datacenters, telecommunications, business continuity, and disaster recovery.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on configuration, installation, maintenance, and backup of all servers and system data, and providing project support in the timely completion of IT projects, milestone dates, and deliverables
  • Provide leadership across the organization, will drive objectives for service excellence on all computer systems, and supervises Systems Administrators and IT Support Specialists
  • Develop IT policies and procedures, resolution of Tier 2-3 user support requests, back-up helpdesk support, and serving in an on-call capacity
  • Comply with company policies and procedures regarding Employee health, safety and conduct


  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience in a leadership capacity
  • 5+ years relevant experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (and later), Exchange 2003 (and later), Backup Executive / ARCServ, and VMware (ESX and vSphere) technologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2003/2008, SharePoint, EMC & Dell SANs, Cisco and HP ProCurve networking hardware, physical server hardware, and data center technologies (power, cooling, cabling, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems, including Windows XP and 7
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications, including Office 2003- 2010
  • Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be capable of working in a growth oriented environment, with ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent requests, projects, and responsibilities
  • Must possess initiative and strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills; good sense of humor; strong written and verbal communication skills
