MANAGER/PRIVACY PROGRAM -AUDIT AND COMPLIANCE-AUD000G2
The Privacy Program Manager will be the primary liaison for the following UNC Health Care System entities:UNC Medical Center, UNC Rex, Caldwell, Chatham, and High Point. The primary location of this position will be UNC Medical Center and UNC Rex, with half and full day visits to Caldwell, Chatham, and High Point, at least once per month.
Privacy Program Management - Provide direction in the performance and completion of privacy incident investigations and complaints by conducting and coordinating intake review, conducting interviews, preparing incident summaries and entering incident investigation case facts and supporting documentation into the electronic incident management system. Compile monthly and annual reports listing metrics
for use in presentations to leadership. Act as primary point-of-contact for all privacy program functions for one or more owned hospitals in the UNC Health Care System. This will require travel to one or more hospitals in the state on a reoccurring basis for performance of such duties as well as the oversight of local hospital facility HIPAA privacy coordinators. Develop productive relationships with hospital personnel and leadership for hospitals assigned to Privacy Program Manager. Oversee EHR access audits for all assigned hospitals using vendor-supported electronic audit tool. Conduct investigations of escalated electronic health record user access audits. Provide direction and coordination of investigation of EMR access reviews performed by Privacy Analysts and coordinate local responsibilities for audit follow-up with facility HIPAA privacy coordinators. Work with human resources and business stakeholders for follow-up and discipline for identified violations of privacy policies. Provide guidance to UNC Health Care System faculty, staff and others on compliance requirements of UNC Health Care System privacy policies and procedures. Develop supporting materials for presentations, policies and reports on the progress of initiatives and accomplishments of the UNC Health Care System Privacy Office. Develop, maintain and update web content on the UNC Health Care System Privacy Office web pages (intranet and internet). Assist in projects and related activities in of the UNC Health Care System Privacy Office through the performance of research, presentations, gathering metrics and preparation of other supporting materials.

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
Professional Experience Requirements:
If Bachelor's degree, Five (5) years of privacy related experience is required.
If Associate's degree, Nine (9) years of privacy related experience is required.
If High school/GED, Thirteen (13) years of privacy related experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Familiar with privacy and compliance standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to lead complex project initiatives, develop and implement program strategies, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
