Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Director of Environmental Services is responsible for leadership, administration, planning, evaluating, and coordination of the housekeeping, linen, valet, and grounds departments. He/she is responsible for directing and coordinating services on and to patient care units, other medical and non-medical areas within the facility, and the exterior hospital campus. The Director manages the activities of the department to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. He/she establishes policies, procedures, objectives, and standards for personnel administration and service to customer base. The Director reviews activity reports, financial statements, productivity reports, HCAHPS patient satisfaction data, and employee engagement reports to determine progress and status in obtaining objectives. He/she will revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. The Director confers with other department directors regarding technical and administrative aspects of Environmental Services. He/she will establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff, nursing, and other hospital services. The Director will manage contract services related to support departments and will work with the Division Director of Support Services on implementation of support services initiatives. Performs other duties as requested.
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administrative Services, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related discipline required. Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospitality, or Business Administration preferred.
Minimum of 5 years progressive healthcare or hospitality related experience, preferably in environmental services areas. Must have 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a service industry.
